Summertime...
...is almost over. Grad school is about to begin.
Cue the panic attack.
See, my summer has been great. Fabulous. Fantastic. I've been doing horses again 100%, and while there were times during the day (mostly while mucking out my third stall) where I remembered why I'm NOT doing this full time, there were more things that I loved and knew I would miss. So now, I"m going to make two top ten lists, in no order of importance. The first is all the things I will miss. The second is all the things I will not miss.
I will miss...
1) early morning prep rides on horses I will never be able to afford.
2) watching the sunrise
3) the manic energy pace of a showday
4) the feeling of doing my job well and knowing it
5) working hard physically
6) being part of a team
7) being outside all day for my job
8) getting on a horse and knowing after five minutes what they need/how they go
9) saying hello to all the familiar faces at the shows
10) tips and day money
I will not miss...
1) crazy horse people
2) living in a bubble and not knowing what's going on in the world
3) turning in/turning out
4) longing
5) morning chores
6) not getting to sleep in. ever.
7) the lack of a social life
8) the lack of a man life
9) heck, the lack of a life
10) being physically exhausted
I guess the second list trumps the first. Main problem? I love it. I LOVE IT. I really do. But just like with a relationship, sometimes love isn't enough.
